but, unfortunately…

into storytelling.

Created during my search for work abroad, But, Unfortunately... this personal project blends data visualization, editorial design, satire and personal storytelling to explore the raw, often unspoken side of unemployment. Through infographics, editorial layouts and ironic visual language, I translated personal experiences into a printed diary that reveals the emotional weight behind rejection and the performative polish of the job-hunting culture.

The accompanying poster, The Rejection Hamburger, reinterprets the standardized language of rejection emails as a fast-food recipe for disappointment. The poster design received the Zetafonts Award and the Farm Cultural Park Prize at Graphic Days® Turin 2025.
Being rejected in the creative world is part of the game, but when it happens, it leaves a particularly bitter taste. This poster reflects on professional rejection by transforming it into a visual and… gastronomic experience.

An infographic with an industrial aesthetic blends illustration, photography, and expressive typography to reveal the perfect recipe for the Rejection Hamburger, a burger with an aftertaste of shattered illusions and unfulfilled hopes. In the end, the real question remains: is there still a human touch in the selection process, or is it all just automated fast food?

I believe in the power of starting uncomfortable convesations around difficult subjects in our society, so I chose to expose my own my experience as a starting point.

The book turns the job hunting into a visual language shaped by unexpected metaphors: each of these  transform something frustrating, vulnerable or strangely familiar into something that can be questioned and laughed about.

THE TANLGED PROCESS – THE JOURNEY FROM APPLICATION TO EMPLOYMENT BECOMES A BUNDLE OF COUNTLESS THREADS, PASSING TROUGH MANY NEEDLES, REFLECTING THE COMPLEXITY AND UNCERTAINTY OF RECRUITMENT.
THE TELEPHONE — THE SOCIAL PRESSURE OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY CHECKING IN FOR UPDATES TURNS INTO A CONSTANTLY RINGING PHONE.

THE SPACE MISSION – FINDING THE RIGHT JOB BECOMES A SPACE MISSION IN SEARCH FOR LIFE ON OTHER PLANETS, WITH POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES BEING RESEARCHED, COMPARED AND CATALOGUED.

THE ROMANCE – EMPLOYEE-COMPANY RELATIONSHIP IS COMPARED TO THE MANY HURDLES OF DATING AND FINDING TRUE LOVE.
AI IS A MYSTIC EYE – REFLECTING ON WHERE TECHNOLOGY HELPS AND WHERE IT BECOMES A SUBSTITUTE OF THINKING
